wishes Doogie Howser would have some sort of cult revival so all the great slash fiction writers in web ville could bare(is that the right one?) witness to it's great slashable glory

I read an article a few years ago that every decade's entertainment includes nostalgic nods towards the decade from 20 years previous, as the writers, musicians, and producers who grew up in those decades become the ones in control. It explained NPH's rise in popularity in the last few years, That 70s Show in the late 90s, the revival of new-grunge right now(and the reunions of bands like Alice In Chains & Soundgarden). Of course just because it's nostalgic doesn't mean it's going to work, case in point being That 80s Show, which while working with the formula failed because it tried to ride on the coattails of That 70s Show.
