Today hasn't been a good day. John woke us up crying pitifully and very distressed sounding. I checked him all over, feeling his feet and legs and body, and he screamed when his belly was touched. Freaking out, I called the vet and we rushed him in. Turns out he has a UTI and couldn't pee as he was all blocked up

My giant Daedalus kitty has been on special food for 11 years now after an attack involving stones and peeing blood. :( It was awful at the time (he was about 1) but there has not been a single issue on the prescription food. I am thinking the best for John - this is super common, especially in male cats. xo

Wow, 11 years? That makes me feel a lot better. Hopefully John will be the same. We're going to feed Rodney the special food, too, just in case.

Yeah, all of my cats eat the special food. It's easier because Daedalus would try to eat the other cats' food if there was different food, so they have all just always had the prescription food. It's never been a problem, except that it's pricey!

And yep, 11 years and counting, I foresee many more!! xoxoxox
