Ok, this is going in a cut because it's very long and drawn out, but it had to be said.

I'm still in denial. I feel raw. Is it wrong to be this attached to a TV show? Maybe. Who cares? Not me.

I certainly am glad that I was along for the bumpy (if inconsistent) ride that Alias provided for the last 5 years. I'm not sorry I invested time and emotion into theories, fanfiction, music videos, and artwork. I certainly made enough friends along the way to last a lifetime.

Even though I'm glad for all of these things, I'm still aggravated. Granted, for short notice, I'm sure the writers did what they could and what they thought was best. I think J.J. should have been involved in the last eps, even if he was busy for MI3. I mean, come on...it was his brainchild in the first place.

Ok, so things that I can remember...I will watch it again, I'm sure, but this is just for now.

The open with Sydney in Sydney was cool. Nice trib. I liked that they were all taking pictures of the Prophet 5 players, however I think shooting them with a gun and killing them DEAD would have been better than taking their pictures.

I loved Marshall and Carrie snuggling and him trying to wake her up. I knew as soon as we heard Mitchell that something happened to him though. NO! The horror. Poor Marshall being kidnapped again. It was also nice to see Tom and Rachel get one kiss, even if that storyline was a waste and didn't go anywhere. BG is an amazing actor and you could feel the pain about his murdered wife just eminating from him. At first, I thought he might be in on Rachel's abduction, since he left, but now I realize he was just running away from what he might feel. Too bad that left an opening for SARK (YAY) to take Rachel.

I totally loved that Marshall didn't cave during torture. I loved his 'I hate you' speech to Sloane and then his comment about having a hangnail on his thumb, so maybe they could take care of that next? Booyah! You go, Marshall! I loved that Sark was still in character, plainly showing that he found his assignment to torture Rachel distasteful, but doing it because it had to be done. Yay to her for not caving either.

Totally saw Sloane coming while Syd was getting Isabelle ready for the sitter. I figured he'd take her or the baby though, instead of just having Sydney talk to him. Nice deciphering on the ode-cay, Syd/Marshall. Thank goodness Carrie was able to take what Marshall said and make sense of it. It was great to see her back and helping out.

Sometime in here (I'm sure I'm out of order, but I can't remember exactly when it is), they're done with Rachel and Marshall. Sloane orders them to be killed. Sark thinks it's a waste, but he has his henchman go in anyway. Rachel whips out a trusty underwire from her bra, picks her handcuff lock, kicks the guy's ass, takes his gun, and shoots him. This was an awesome scene. Too bad Rachel didn't have a chance to show her stuff more. I could have go on board. Syd and the gang shoot some more bad guys and extract Marshall and Rachel.

So, a bomb was planted in the LA subway system, and Sark did it. Figures. Anyway, Tom goes to disarm it, can't, slows it down, asks to talk to Rachel, makes this speech about how he would have liked to ask her out and how she would have said yes (didn't I just see that storyline somewhere before?) and then promptly leaves this world to be with his dead wife in a blast of fire. It did get to me though and I was a little teary. Shitty for Rachel though. If he did like her so much, he should have tried to get away.

Wow, how fast can people travel these days? I think they must have all passed their Apparition tests or something. *nodwink*

Of course, we go back to Mt. Subasio, where it all started. Syd confronts Sloane, who is as calm as all get out. He decided she can't see what he's about to do, so he shoots the floor underneathe her, she falls through, has some flashbacks, and Vaughn brings her back.

Weird that the scar on her neck mirrors the killing wound that Nadia got from the glass coffee table. Man. Derevko women shouldn't be near glass, is all I gotta say...look what happened to Irina later.

Anyway, the flashbacks were well done and incorporated so that they didn't detract from the storyline. It was interesting to see parts of Syd's history that we hadn't seen before and it was good to see real Francie back. Weird that we didn't see Will or Danny (at least we heard about him) in them, but whatever.

Peyton kills the 12 (man, why couldn't we have had a badass like her in S3 instead of Lauren?) and Sark and Sloane go to another Rambaldi location.

Best line of the night: Sark: "Does it have to be so dusty? If Rambaldi can prophecize the future, you'd think he could advise not to wear $500 shoes." Man. That boy does have his priorities, doesn't he? This is why I love him so much. Well that and he's so freaking hot I want to jump him in his hot black suit. ...errr...yeah...anyway.

Basically, Sloane takes the ball, inserts it into a hole, it produces Clifford the not-so-big-red-ball, which I assume now was full of Rambaldi eternal life liquid. Syd confronts Sloane and takes the ball, which causes clifford to 'splode. She threatens to destroy it.

Sark is waiting outside. The team gets there. I don't remember the exact events, but Sark ends up with a gun drawn on Vaughn...then Jack draws a gun on Sark, then a guy draws a gun on Jack (at least I think that's what happened). Then he takes the two in, which causes Sydney to hesitate. Sloane sees she's not going to give him the globe ball thingy, and he shoots Jack.

OH. MY. GOD! HE SHOT JACK! I want to rip off Sloane's head right about this time and eat his esophagus. He shall NOT HARM SPY DADDY!. Apparently Syd feels the same because she pumps Sloane so full of lead that he's a hazard to the environment. Sark gets away, of course, with the globey thing, and Vaughn and Syd get Jack outside and call the medics. Jack tells Syd she has to go stop her Mother (who was revealed to be Sloane's partner and has missiles). Syd says she won't leave Jack. A nice, touching, weepy, father/daughter moment. I smiled. I cried. Jack stood up to see her off (symbolic gesture to show her that he was strong and would be ok), and then he just falls. That's when I stood up, cussed like a sailor at the TV and bawled.

Syd confronts Irina, who apparently, nothankstothemonkeywriterswhocan'tdecidewhattodowithhercharacter, was evil all along. I mean, come on. Raygun said it best: "Her mother went from being dead, to being alive, to being evil, to being good, to being evil, to being dead, to being alive, to being good, to being really evil, to being dead. Not even joking, thats like, a precise history of Syd's mom." I mean, why go to all the freaking trouble of having Irina go with Vaughn, Jack, Nadia, and Syd in S4 to overcome Elena and Sloane with their plot to destroy? Seriously? That's how you're going to have her turn out? Fuck you, writers. This was the one part of the finale that pissed me off to no end. Anyway, they fight it out, Irina ends up on top of this glass window, trying to reach for the artifact. Shades of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade here, because Syd tells her to take her hand, but no...Irina has to get the artifact, and of course, falls to her mishapen, broken-bodied, death. Derevko women should not go near glass! It's just so wrong! I didn't have a problem with Irina dying. It's just that it was a total defamation of character to have her go out this way, IMHO. Again...Fuck you and your lemonade stand, writers.

Vaughn finds Sark, and another fight...he shoots Sark in the leg. Sark says, "You shot me!". Heh. He makes this speech about how death and destruction isn't his passion, blah blah. So, he gives up the codes, because it's in his best interest. Vaughn stops the missiles.

Meanwhile, Sloane gets magically healed by Rambaldi Grow and Jack manages to drag his happy self in to where Sloane is. He makes this speech about how Sloane was right all along, but he wasn't going to let him hurt Syd any more. And I quote "You beat death, but you can't beat me". He holds up some explosives and then smirks and blows the place up. So, Sloane, who is still alive (for all eternity, apparently) is trapped beneath the rubble and even his figment of the imagination daughter, Nadia, deserts him. Very fitting end. And while I hate it that Jack died, it was noble, and I can see why he had to. Syd would have no peace until Sloane was out of commission for good. And, it's nice to know that Sloane is basically in a living tomb. He deserves no less.

Cue to the beach. We see a girl (Isabelle) playing the sand. She looks up and sees "Uncle Dixon" coming. Dixon remarks how hard it was to find the place (DUH..do you think they'd go somewhere like Oahu?), and says it's about business. Apparently, they need some of Syd or Vaughn's mad spy skillz to catch Sark. We see a nice homage photo of Sark in his trademark sunglasses. Vaughn looks at Syd. Syd says "Hey, don't look at me. You're the one that let him go." I LMAO at this. Sark lived to be bad another day. They walk outside, leaving Isabelle in her room putting together the famous indicator puzzle. She looks at it for a minute, then knocks it over, thus showing she's not going to do the spy thang (I assume). They all walk out onto the beach, and it's over.

Then a note thanking everyone for 5 great years. That was touching. It was one hell of a ride and I was sorry to see it end. So, thank you, indeed. You had a very loyal fan base, even if it wasn't the largest, and you will be missed. We love you.

*sobs*

I really wish we could have had more time to tie up some ends. Who the hell was the Cardinal? Was Il Dire seriously just a machine that printed out the word 'Peace'? The passenger and the chosen one fight to the death? hmm. That one was hanging. Nadia's dead, but because of Sloane. Utter desolation? hmm. Yeah. Irina's character assassination? WTF? And even though I was alway a Sarkney at heart, I knew it wouldn't happen. So, therefore, I was disappointed not to see a simple, touching wedding ceremony with Syd and Vaughn and baby Isabelle (and maybe Marshall and Dixon). I feel like we lost out by skipping so far ahead. There are a ton of other things, but I'm too overwhelmed to think of them at this point.

Judy, we'll have to watch this again when you get down here.
