Bummer

I didn't get it. That room, I mean. Oh well, I'll just keep trying. I've got another viewing tonight. Major bummer, 'cause the last two episodes of LOST season two are on. Luckily I've already seen them on winamp, but my dad hasn't, so I'll have to set the vcr. Again. He's missed at least six episodes so far of this season. Sad, huh? And here I was ( Read more... )

That's a sad excuse for a fan! :D LOST is brilliant. I said that to an American friend of mine here and she was like: "you have LOST in Europe?!" Hehe! How could we live without!

Absolutely. Americans don't really know much about us. Then again, I guess the same thing could be said about us. I don't know anything about America except stereotypes.

I got one advice when it comes to getting a room: It CAN be hard to get one and it can be real easy, all depending on chance. Anyways, if you've looked for a long time and havn't found any, it's easy to get desperate. If you do get desperate and THEN get an offer on a room where something doesn't seem right, as in one of the flatmates is the wrong kind of weird or the room smells funny -- then DO NOT take the room.

True, dat. But I've always got a failsafe. My dad knows someone in Groningen, a girl he used to have in his math-class. They used to photograph things together. Anyway, this woman knows of one of the ladies in her photo-group who rents rooms to students from time to time. So if all else fails, I can aways try that option. Traveling is really not an option, that's two hours and twenty minutes each day, both ways. That's just too much.

Oh I'd go for that if I were you! The best places you get are always the ones you get through ppl you know, at least in my experience. Cos they give good deals, and they feel responsibility towards you cos they know you (or in this case your dad) so that you won't be set up in any way. So you live 2 hours away from uni, or Groningen is 2 hours away from uni? :confuzzled:

*puts on teacher-outfit*

Brace yourselves kiddies, it's GEOGRAPHY TIME!
The uni I'm going to study English at, is called the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, or RUG for short. This is, rather self-explanatory when looking at name of uni, in Groningen. I myself am currently a resident of Enschede, which is about 150 miles south of Groningen, give or take a mile. Therefor, if a room can not be found, I must travel every day from Enschede to Groningen, which would be nasty. :P

*Sean Connery accent* Here endeth the lesson.
