"If a theatre were to take on the task of doing the entire work of Shakespeare, out of an absolute conviction that this is the greatest school of life that they know, that group would be an astonishing group in human terms." - Peter Brook

Oh, BTW, Orson Welles says some very apposite stuff on Shakespeare (and a bit on Brook) at various places in this collection, which I really enjoyed:

Thanks. Good to see you. Been letting the rest of this series brew on the slow burner -- might be able to take the first fraction off soon.

Hello, I read with interest you're comments on the 418 journal, but I'm unable to find a definition of 'sorb' that fits the context of your post there, you wrote of, "...growing a sorb"? Could you help me to understand this?

Hey there -- I missed you! I've become a huge stamp collector based on your original pioneering geographical work.

A "sorb" is a sensory organ in a children's novel by David Lindsay that allows its owner to perceive his surroundings in a new and transpersonal way:

"That is to say, with the lower eyes he saw things in clear detail, but without personal interest; with the sorb he saw nothing as self - existent - everything appeared as an object of importance or non - importance to his own needs."

I used it over there to refer to any gnostic organ that's cultivated rather than born, like a "soul."
