I went to see King Lear last night at Stratford. Absolutely amazing.  Ian McKellen was superb, and even though I thought that the plays I saw with Patrick Stewart in the Autumn were good, this was even better. Damn it, I forgot about King Lear. Glad you enjoyed it.

So sorry to hear about Dave's nephew and the NHS incompetence. I'd love to say I am surprised, but as I used to work within an NHS teaching hospital, I am not. I hope you and Dave manage to keep going and that Dave feels better soon. (Sam is probably very good medicine.) GF is a pain in the arse, make sure he doesnt do too much strenuous stuff and thank god he doesnt have to organise events this year because he wouldnt be doing that with GF. When I had it I was even too tired to read.

Glad you're enjoying the new job. :)

(I still have about 8 of Dave's books btw... will hand them over to you if you are going to the Fayre. If not, let me know when I'll be seeing you next)

Patrick Stewart? That'll be The Tempest with the Icelandic Island and the redeemable Prospero then?

Lear in June for us.

Darling, I've been so busy I've not looked at LJ in ages so I only just read this post. I'm so sorry to hear about J's news, how awful for them! And how awful for D to have glandular fever. Please pass on my love to him, and make sure you keep his pecker up ;)
