We have a completion date for our new house - 2nd November.  We're going to do some work on it before we move in, as I can't face living in two building sites in the space of 3 months, but we should be living there by Christmas.  Then I just have to become uber fit so I can cope with a cycle ride to and from the station each day.  My parents were

I don't suppose cycling everywhere while the car is out of commission is enough to get you in gear for the station cycle?

It'll be nice with weather which isn't crap and hopefully there'll be a non-road route cos cycling along with cars isn't fun I've found.

BTW - invest in waterproof trews for cycling. There is really nothing more annoying than cycling in ordinary trews whe it's rained the night before, then getting to work and realising the mudguard on your rear wheel has totally diverted the puddles you cycled through, splashing them upwards, to give you the world's wettest bum. :(
