Two other things that affect me deeply.
1. The way Jin Ling finally breaks down and cries for the father he never knew - turning from a uppity young princeling into a snotty heartbroken kid in moments
2. Uncle Jiang and Madam Yu - their last moments, and their clear affection respect and devotion to each other despite the daily scenes of ordinary domestic strife. It's testament, I think, to how well the drama colours in relatively minor characters to make them full and very human.

I find it hard to sympathise with the Jiang parents, no one deserved what happened to them (or so many others)... I think this hit me because of the way Wei Wuxian and Wen Ning tried so hardto do the right thing and were both so badly hurt for being good. Especially Wen Ning who is the single best person in the whole damn cultivator world.
