I can't pass up a chance to fix one of your mistakes so:

"the ones in are kit are smaller than the ones normally used"
shouldn't it be "our kit" instead of "are kit" ?

You're correct, but don't think I thought that 'are' should have been used instead of 'our'. Obviously I know the difference between the two words, and when to use each. Nice catch though.
