so i bought a turquoise mask, one cheaper than the rest, but tied a bright orange scarf and aqua beads to the side. i'm working hard at spreading the Carnevale spirit...i think the idea is to reak havoc? I am of the opinion that it is just as good (if not better) to do something positive for others than to give up something for lent.

I'd imagine carnevale to be better than the americanized mardi gras in new orleans.

what is italian reggae like?

is funny as hell.

i've never actually been to mardi gras in new orleans, but considering carnevale is more chocolate and masquerade parties, than boobs and beads, i'd like to think it's ten times better : )

i think doing good things for others can be something to do for lent. i also see the value of giving things up though. it's a nice conditioning of the mind to go without something you are used to. i'm giving up coke and making fun of this girl linsey who lives with me (the second is the harder one). two years ago i gave up eating meat and just kept going...maybe i'll ween myself of coke too eh? eh?

how's school going by the way?

The Krewes in New Orleans do hold galas and balls and such, but only the locals (and localized celebrities) care for such things. Plus there is king cake, which is basically a big ol' doughnut with frosting and a small plastic baby inside. Other than that, it's all overdone crap.

If your roomie makes you laugh then it is not bad to make fun of her. But if she truly irks you, then just focus on the good parts of her. I dunno. you'll figure it out.
