February was so long...

...that it lasted into March.

Grey, grey, grey, cold, cold, cold.

This is the time of year when I find myself listening to Dar:

And then the snow,
And then the snow came, we were always out shoveling,
And we'd drop to sleep exhausted,
Then we'd wake up, and its snowing...Except that I haven't bothered to shovel the driveway, and it's covered ( Read more... )

Ooh, that sounds like a perfect Spring Break trip. Enjoy the vodka tonics, and good luck finishing Book 2!

Thanks! I'm seldom as productive as Patrick was this weekend (!), but the ending of Book Two is starting to take shape, and I'm keen to take a good chunk of time to just write (and laze in the sun, sail, go for long walks etc). Can't wait!

Good luck to you as you begin the Scrimshaw sequel!

My uncle says he will make us rum drinks with umbrellas in 'em this year.

Florida right now sounds lovely.

I will be right here because all my students are going to Florida (or somewhere) and I will have to answer the phones where people will call and make important comments like--'huh, I didn't think anyone would be there.'

On the other hand, the sun is more or less shining right now.

It's more or less grey here. So sick of grey.

We need a trip to Grinnell! I've been so lame about planning anything...

Your sun got here! People keep blinking up at the sky: "what is that dang thing up there?"

But the forecast: getting colder this afternoon; tomorrow, snow and sleet. Bah!

Damn, I'm glad I don't live where you do! :-)

It's supposed to be more or less sunny here all week, although they're talking about rain on Thursday and Friday (Thursday being the day I'm planning to be outside).

The gate into my back yard is still frozen so I'm really, really hoping it warms up soon.

If it's like last year, it will be fabulous. Or even better--they'd had a hurricane last year so the beach and its accoutrements had washed away, and this year have been replaced.

Note to self: Buy sunscreen

A writing vacation on the beach with rum drinks sounds pretty darn kick-ass. And you got so much done last year!

It's so going to kick ass. I'm not even going to bring a sweater.
