Where's finnish name of Italy? :D It's an interesting post, Finnish language is really far from Germanic or Neo-Latin languages, so the names of other Coutries are very different!
I didn't put it here, because it's the same as the original one - Italia. I guess it's been easy enough to pronounce, so there's been no need to change it.
Ah, ok! :) yes, Finnish appears easier to read than other Nordic languages for an Italian person ^^'
Have you ever read that there are some innocent Finnish sentences that sounds like Italian sentences with a bit "dirty" mean? :) Anna Falchi (an Italian showgirl with Finnish mother and Italian father) made a finnish sentence famous during San Remo Festival several years ago...it was funny :D
Lol, yes I know. I don't know where I read it, but Finnish tourists in Italy should never tell anybody to "look the sea" (katso merta) in Finnish.
It's the same thing with "hui" (something like oh! - an exclamation cried when scared) and Russians. It means... something different for them, and I once used it when I got startled by a Russian girl...
LOL, now I'm curious to find the mean of Hui in Russian! XD Katso merta isn't the only finnish phrase you cannot use in Italy, I've found a website with other funny sentences, if I find I'll post here.
So, also onomatopoeia are different for each Country, interesting (an Italian doesn't use cry Oh! if he is scared but a beautiful AAAAAAAAAAH very loud! XD)
