If I had any ability to post photos on here, I would. (any suggestions? hint...) Anyway. I've got two garden plots dug out, turned over and fertilized. One has already been sewed with onions and carrots. Nothing has come up yet and my biggest pest so far is...my toddler. I need to get fencing put up ( Read more... )

I'm going low-scale this year and just having lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, peas, zucchini, and tomatoes. I did onions before, and they did well; we just didn't use them that much. I've never tried peppers because Dave doesn't like them. :(

I understand the sweating over the dirt. I did that with our last one, but since I was gardenless for 2 years it grew back over. I decided to take the easy route and do the raised beds for this (and future) years.

where are you getting seeds from? We have some leftover from last year but Ken didn't see a point in ordering any this year. Do you have a good supplier?

We just got them at Lowe's. :P

(love the lilacs! I'm hoping ours will bloom for this weekend. Our bush got pretty big since last year.)

We are making a 3rd raised bed garden this year for zucchini alone. It always overtook the other plants and nothing else would grow with it. Now it will be all by itself and give the other plants a chance. We're doing beans, peas, garlic, tomatoes, maybe cucumber and herbage. We opted not for lettuce this year and we have never had luck with carrots. There's probably something else that I'm forgetting.
