Preach It, Weir!

Johnny Weir is so superbly articulate, so wise for his years. This is one damned impressive 2.5 minutes of commentary.

Yanno... I have no idea what led up to this young guy making this statement, but it doesn't really matter. What matters is: Damn, he's well spoken. Whoever said whatever be damned, this guy has a good head on his shoulders and an awesome grip on reality. God bless him. We need more people in the public with that kind of conviction.

What touched me is the part where he said there's a whole generation of people who do not let their gender, race, etc. define them. To that (raises glass of water) Amen.

He's an out gay flamboyant male figure skater at whom several homophobic comments were made by reporters. He wears costumes like this:

Ditto this: I was really captivated by him, and was uber impressed with his rationale and level head. I hope whoever made derogatory statements has a nice private moment where they see what an ass they are.

Swoons. I just learn who Johnny was during the Olympics. He was just fabulous and wish he got the bronze. Him skating to Poker Face was genius!!!

He is well spoken and all around awesome!!!

Yes, he is so beautiful to watch, so fluid, graceful, and strong. I didn't see the Olympics, but I hear he was robbed of the bronze by biased judges.

I love the fact that he made this statement not for himself, but for the many young people who may look at him as a role model. I think it's very clear that he is more concerned with the harm such comments may do to someone who is not so strong or confident or who is just trying to find his/her way/place in the world. I applaud him wholeheartedly. He definitely showed he is the better person and completely deserving of his position as a popular figure. Wish there were more like him in the spotlight.

Well said. He has a maturity and self-confidence that I definitely admire and had nothing like when I was young and can only pull off some days even now.
