I hear you on the whole transient thing. I think somehow, I was born with my family's share of nomadic genes. I just can't seem to settle in one place or another. I guess it's just that there's so much I want to see and do, and I figure I might as well do it now while I'm not tied down and free to go where I wish. At the same time though, I sometimes worry if this chronic restlessness is always going to be a part of me, or if I'm ever going to settle down.

Fyi, I'm jealous you saw FOB and get to see JEW. So you can't see me right now, but I'm staring at the computer screen with a smile on my face, waving my middle finger at you. Cheers! :D

I saw The Format with Lucky Boys and Bowling for Soup one time and they were really good...maybe it was just a bad show weekend for you, darlin! If I end up in grad school at home, or lacking grad school altogether I suppose, I'll be in the St. Louis area! You'll have one person you know there at least, right? haha...Where did you interview?

i'd be excited to have someone to go to shows with!
i interviewed with Severn-Trent Labs (which is actually in Earth City)
p.s. the format isn't awful.... just that they aren't a high-octane, entertaining band to see live. and i was surprised that FOB wasn't much either. I still like FOB, but i've seen many bands with greater stage presence (see: Yellowcard, Something Corporate, Spitalfield, The Early November)

i've seen Yellowcar and Something Corporate...and if they have better stage presence than anyone...that is really sad.

Well then I guess it is sad. If I wanted to see guitarists stand and not move around that is what TBS and JEW did. The whole swirling the microphone gag get old real fast. Taking Back Sunday looked like a band that belonged in small club playing a big venue and did not know what they wre going to with all the pace they had to work with. Now Yellowcard and Something COrperate did have fantastic stage presence. They moved they helicopetered their guitars. The piano player for Something COrperate danced ON the piano and played with his feet. Even Fall Out Boy, who sounded really bad live, were jumping, stage diving, helicopetering, roatating mic stands mid song. That is stage presence. ZZ Top at 70 moved better then those guys is their late 20s
