i think youre underestimating infants by saying theyre uncivilized, unsocialized, animal-like, etc. i mean, yeah, but also i think theyre so incredible for being able to pick up on everything, for being able to learn from scratch. i mean the fact that an infant can learn to talk just from listening, and can pick up so many words and grammatical structures pretty flawlessly, is unfathomable to me. it's kind of like how i think that yes, inventions these days are pretty incredible, like ipods, wireless technology, cars, whatever. but even more incredible are the inventions of fire, of the wheel, of a gear. the very very basic stuff that someone had to come up with without knowing anything, built off of nothing, i mean, how does one go about coming up with the idea of a wheel?? anyway, thats kind of off topic.
and, what does starbucks have to do with oedipus?
