You can do it!!! Ganbatte!! (good luck! do your best!)

It sounds like you have a great idea for your future, I think it would be a great thing to help not only girls and women, but also boys and men too. Sex education is something that both sides need to really understand, so that they can make smart decisions later on.

I think especially at our age, where we are young enough that younger people still can relate to us, it is a great time to connect with them and teach them things about their future. Sometimes having that connection with someone who is closer to their age giving them advice will have a larger impact than a middle aged adult.

Kind of like an older brother or sister giving you advice instead of a grandma or a cranky parent.

Good luck! I hope everything goes well!

Too true. I remember one of the girls in the focus groups mentioning how some guys don't know how to put condoms on correctly, and how they're ashamed/embarrassed to use them at all. It takes two to tango, and indeed sexual education is vital for everyone.

For women, there is the added dimension of dealing with pregnancy.

Agreed, pregnancy is a huge factor that women need to learn more about. Their options, ways to prevent, and I think also ways to help pregnancy is also important to know. I think many women don't know the kind of damage they can do to their body that can prevent them from having children ( ... )

I heard Japan makes good condoms.

I've also heard a different take on abortion among the Japanese. A friend of mine said that they don't see it black&white/good or bad, and that they acknowledge that it is taking away a life, but that it's a necessary sacrifice and not OMGBABYMURDERYOUREGOINGTOHELL!

I guess it's hard to generalize, but I'm sure the attitudes, given a different societal and historical context, are distinct to the common views in the U.S.

As for the effects, I think it largely depends on each individual's case, like their overall health, the method used, and how late during the pregnancy it occurred. I do know that for adolescents, it is usually safer to have an abortion than give birth.

What's contraception accessibility and popularity in Japan like (if you know)?
