Fair enough. But I still say you can have that struggle and that drama and fight that makes it worth it with girls who are worth it. Don't fight with dirty skanky mean girls. Fight with intelligent strongwilled independent girls. The first type makes you fight because they don't respect themselves and wants to see you squirm. The second type makes you fight because they DO respect themselves and they see themselves as worth it. Go for the cool girls!!
lol--i mean thats sorta what im saying Jen. Like, i dont WANT to fight with them, thats not what i mean. Im just saying there needs to be something there that makes it worthwhile beyond an instant attraction and affection. Equate it to music. How many of your favorite albums ever did you like immediately? I know for me, the answer is none. Pop music works that way. It's meant to hit you immediately, stick in your head, get you to spend the most $ possible, and then it leaves so you're ready for the next single, and repeat the cycle. Its pretty ingenious when you look at it that way. Good music works differently. Its complex and laden with tons of different meaning. It takes time to soak it in. Its sex versus love. Instant gratification versus long term emotion.
I totally agree with your analysis of pop music, and normally I would agree that my favorite albums become my favorite albums over time. But sometimes my favorites hit me right away, I know I love them and I know they will be important for me forever. It doesn't happen often but it happened the first time I heard Ben Folds and the first time I heard Beirut two weeks ago (who you should check out theyre fucking awesome). So I've had both kind of music experiences.
I don't have any metaphors to connect this to the romance issue, by the way. Um, yeah. Love is cool...?
Best comeback ever. Not only does posting anonymous show your extreme cowardice and unwillingness to put your identity out there into fair play, but the complete blandness of your generic post makes you sound like a fucking moron without any creativity whatsoever. Anyone can throw random insults around. Thankyou for saving me time and effort by proving your lack of intelligence for me.
