I stopped outside my daughter's room a few minutes ago because I heard You Ruined Me playing on her computer. Surprised, I asked her since when did she care for JC's music. Apparently, she didn't know who it was. She heard the song on the radio and set it on her MySpace page. She says all her friends L-O-V-E the song. They freakin' love it ( Read more... )

With regards to the Myspace I think as long as you are monitoring what she is doing and teach her safe practices it is fine. My SIL & BIL are completely clueless when it comes to the internet and I worry about their fourteen year old son. The internet is always going to be a huge part of our kids lives and they need to learn how to use it safely.

Her MySpace is Friends-Locked, and I have to approve the friends. It's only kids from school too. I was on the fence about letting her get one, but as with anything, if you use it correctly it will be OK. It was her reward for excellent grades.

Ibut as with anything, if you use it correctly it will be OK Absolutely. Better to let her have one and monitor it than having her go behind your back. Although she sounds like a great kid so you wouldn't have to worry about that. As she gets older you can let her have more control. Congrats on her excellent grades!
