Dean leaned against the side of the Impala, waiting for Peyton to show up. Having seen Alec off to Bobby's, he wasn't in nearly as good a mood as he had been when he'd made this date, but he hoped it would provide a good distraction.

Peyton, on the other hand, was quite cheerful as she came towards the parking lot. She'd have waved, but she was carrying two coffees. "Hope these aren't forbidden in the Impala."

"Just don't spill," Dean said with a faint smile as he took one of the coffees.

She looked at him curiously. "You okay?"

"Yeah," Dean said, forcing a bigger smile. "Just, my best friend had to leave this morning."
