Chuck had been walking back to the dorms after getting his alcohol fix in town. Sure, he had alcohol in his room, but the bar had a much better variety. Besides, he stayed in last night (not that hadn't been extremely fun).
Somehow he hadn't noticed anything weird going on in town. Not yet, anyway.
He also didn't notice a strange guy with a mask and pickaxe walking around. He got unobservant after a few drinks.
Unobservant prey were easy pickings. But there was no fun in just attacking and killing without them knowing he was there. You didn't get to see the terror that way.
So he fell in step behind his prey, shadowing him up the street.
Chuck had been too buzzed to really notice anybody following him at first but after a minute or two he felt a weird chill down his back. He started to think that maybe he wasn't alone any more.
He stopped abruptly in his tracks and stood still, listening for any movement. Maybe it was just a squirrel.
Today was already creeping Angela out, between missing people, and the ones she did know acting weird, she was definitely uneasy as she made her way back to the dorms.
It was probably a good thing she was keeping a closer eye on her surrounding than she would normally. The creep loitering with a weapon? That was enough to make that uneasy feeling that bit worse.
Pretty young things were always a favourite target. They screamed so beautifully when they realized what was happening. He smiled behind his mask and stepped forward.
This town seemed way too full of guys who were faithful to their wives, Vivian thought. The sad thing was, she kind of liked meeting somebody like that - it gave her hope that there really was a mister right out there, so she couldn't even wish the one who'd turned her down any ill will.
It did mean she needed to hit the streets again, though, if she wanted a place to stay tonight, looking for somebody who was interested in what she was selling. Maybe someplace darker, with a little less traffic?
Vivian peered down the street, looking for anybody with real potential, then did that trick with her boot again, propping one long leg on the seat of the nearest bench and leaning over to play with the zipper.
Louis was lost. Well naturally he was supposed to be in New York. If only he knew where the hotel was. "Oooh, I think I had too much wine cooler." he groaned.
Buffy was having a really really weird night. Like the kind of night where she figured she might be out till dawn, and she should probably just stock up on stuff rather than do something normal like crash into bed. So this was Buffy heading back towards the weapons locker.
People could try to sneak up on Buffy tonight, but she had enough adrenaline going thanks to run-ins with vampires and the possibility of zombies- ugh she hated zombies- that she was alert. Also, fully expecting people to sneak up on her.
She continued on her way, already walking with the pace of one of those mallwalkers on speed, but trying to look like she was taking a casual stroll. It wasn't working.

It was like something right out of a horror movie, and she was bothered enough by them. They weren't even real.
