Ultrasounds are so incredibly cool! They just look like blobby splooshes and it's difficult to know what's what - but a good tech/doc can (and will and should) point out all the structures you're looking at. And I think I felt movement somewhere past 20 or 21 weeks - and then it was *all the time*. Feeling movement might be one of the things I most miss about pregnancy, actually - it was totally one of my favorite parts.
I don't remember when I first started to feel movement, but I remember that it was awesome. I miss it. Even though now I get to hold an actual little person and feel him move like crazy. *wry grin*
We're going on our first post-baby vacation in a few days, actually -- the long-awaited trip to Playa del Carmen et al. Four days on the ground, plus arrival day and departure day. We've been fantasizing about it since the baby was born, and he turns 15 months on Monday. I can't wait. :-)
