Oh, honey, maudlin is to be expected. omg, the hormone rollercoaster of postpartum is tremendous. Be kind to yourself, cut yourself some slack. (And don't ever feel like you have to apologize for anything you say here -- many of us have been there, or been somewhere like there, and those who haven't, are still here because they care and want to hear about what's up with you.)
I'm so glad to hear that he is improving in all of these days. May it continue. Yay for being off bili lights and for losing the hand IV! And yay for you; you are somebody's MOTHER, holy wow!
I have no idea how some parents manage it for months on end. I'll do whatever I need to do, of course I will! but it's only possible if I don't think farther ahead than tomorrow morning...
You may find that your life will diminish for a little while to a one-foot-in-front-of-the-other kind of thing, and that's okay. I know in the early days I did a lot of things because I *had* to and there was no one else to do them..... and eventually you get out of that forest and it gets better.
I'm so glad he's doing better!!! Take care of yourself while he's still in the NICU (and yo
Sounds like he's making good progress! Go, Alaric, go! I imagine it's quite a rollercoaster ride, what with the hormones along with the ups and downs of his medical issues. As Kass said, don't ever feel bad about whatever you need or want to express here. I think we are all happy to provide whatever support we can, even if it is virtual and pretty passive. I hope you are getting plenty of other support in person, too.
