Good news!

Alaric will be discharged tomorrow. He's jumping through his last hoop now-- proving he won't asphyxiate in his carseat. His platelet levels were terrible until suddenly yesterday they stabilized; today they nearly doubled. All his other problems have resolved themselves already. Yay! I am so glad to hear this -- so glad that the problems are resolving themselves and that you will get to take your beautiful little one home.

And yes, having a newborn at home is exhausting. But I can imagine that having a newborn in NICU is even more exhausting...

YAY! This is wonderful news indeed!

And I suspect that the people who think you've been getting a "break" here are underestimating how draining/exhausting anxiety can be. Yes, it's tough to take care of a newborn under any circumstances, but when you're concerned for his health, everything is harder. So glad to hear he'll be home soon, and you can settle into a regular life-with-baby routine. :-)

Hooray!!!! This news makes me grin from ear to ear. You get to take him home and try to finally get a sense of what normal life with a baby is like.
