A Monster In Paris - BIG HUGE SPOILER MAYBE

Sep 12, 2011 01:35

I was actually gonna post this on my dA journal, but I changed my mind.  I'll tell you why after the cut.

Like the title says, though, do not click through if you want to see A Monster In Paris/Un Monstre A Paris unspoiled!  And for goodness' sake, if you do want to be spoiled, don't be a poop and spoil it for somebody else.

Are we alone?  Good.  Now I will tell you that basically, I'm putting this in my little LJ because I wanna mention it, but I don't actually wanna broadcast it from my much-more-visible dA journal.   I just wanna feel my feelings.

Now, if you read my dA page, you'll probably know that I posted about A Monster in Paris a few weeks back.  My interest stems primarily from the fact that I love beauty/beast pairings like it is my job, and Lucille/Francoeur make an adorable beauty/beast pairing.

The film premiered in France on August 28, and reviews have been trickling in since then, but none of them were particularly telling.  Then it was shown at TIFF yesterday and I finally found a review in English that basically blabs out precisely what I was interested in knowing.

You can read the review for yourself here, but I will quote the relevant part.  Like so:

~THIS IS THE PART YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO READ BY ACCIDENT~

"...Sure there’s the pining for love between Emile and Maude or Raoul and Lucille, but those happily ever afters are inevitable.

...(snip)

...Emile and Raoul find themselves staring in the face of hero-making actions while Maude and Lucille swoon in hopes they finally make their move. "

...

...

And that is apparently that.

Welp.

I'm fed up with this world.

a monster in paris, movies, thank you spoiler alert
