Plueken brought it to my attention that the whole pop verses soda had not been brought up. Everyone has been calling it a carbonated beverage. Hello people, it's pop! In addition, the differences in opinion on the choice of word is CLEARLY regional, not generational. So to call soda our "grandma's" word is incorrect. It is not a matter of "getting with the times." So no calling us old farts!
And honestly, I don't care if you call the dang drink soda pop or Coke, which is what the Texans call all soda/pop/etc. Let's just not dis others who call it something else and say they are slow! (This means BOTH sides of the debate. Please, debate all you want but let's not judge the other party's character!!!)

Also, I think her usage of 'soda is for your grandma' is in reference to a different type of soda, if my memory serves.
