So way back in 2002, the week after dragon con, I found out that I am diabetic (no surprise there). I was weighing in at 255lbs and my size 44 pants were starting to get tight.
7 months later
April 5 2003, My wedding day. With the help of my wonderful wife, I am weighing 178 lbs, and fitting into size 36 pants.
3.5 years later
January 1, 2007, I was back up to 236 lbs when some coworkers and I started a weight loss challenge. for 4 months we were going to see who could lose the most weight.
I lost that challenge by 5lbs. I managed to get my weight down to 210 though.
The positive of that outcome, i'm the only one from the challenge who has kept the weight off. The winner gained back most of the weight he had lost. I also stuck to my diet after the challenge. I was determined not to get over 200lbs ever again.
I was wearing size size 40's about to go back into 42's at the beginning of the challenge.
At the end I was back into size 38's.
X-mas 2007
My parents asked me what I wanted for x-mas, and for a change I reply "Clothes that will fit me." (Everything I owned was too big for me) So I got a bunch of size 34 jeans and went down a shirt size to Large for work shirts.
32's were just a tad too snug for my comfort and 34's were just a tad on the large size.
At this point I am floating between 170 - 178lbs
Today
I bought my first pair of size 30's last friday. I don't even remember the last time I was able to fit into size 30's. They fit just right. My 34's I got for x-mas are only staying on if I really cinch my belt tight.
My metabolism has finally started kicking back into gear. I've been floating between 160 - 170, and finding I have to eat a lot of small meals or I start losing weight pretty fast.
So yeah, now people have a frame of reference whenever they hear someone talk about how skinny I'm getting.
