It's been my hope/dream to be able to do a long drive through this sort of area that Jim/McCoy are going through, to go on the back most roads and just see the beauty of the area. Definitely a form of therapy, for sure. Now, if I could just learn to drive a motorcycle..

Wow! This is getting even better! I love how Jim's capable of seeing this own fuckedupness through the doctor's own, failed rleationships, abandoned kids, and all, and how he's slowly trying to figure out the other man and his fears. I'm really really loving this. And so glad you're posting so regularly!

I'm glad you're enjoying it so much! The updates'll come every other day unless something happens to keep me from getting to a computer, so look for the next one on Friday morning! Yea, Jim and McCoy both have some serious issues that they need to resolve before they can grow as people, but sometimes... having someone else there helps you realize the problem as well as fix it.

I can't tell you my favorite part, because it was all wonderful, but I love Jim's compete and utter faith in McCoy's skill as a doctor. I find it sad that he believes that relationships are so draining and soul destroying instead of the wonderful support they can be.

They're both so very messed up, but naturally so good together. I adored McCoy's unconscious comforting and helping pull Jim from his nightmare.

Really lovely and I can't wait to see how Bones finally convinces Jim that Starfleet is exactly what he needs.

I think, throughout any story, RP, art, and anything else I can think of that I've ever done involving Jim and Bones, I can't help but feel that's a constant. That Jim believes in Bones' skill and abilities, and in him like he does no other. I think that it is subtly different than in TOS, where of course Jim believes in Bones' skill, but I think the simple perfect trust in Bones himself took more time to develop and is more visible in the relationship between Jim and Spock, where in nu! it is definitely between Jim and Bones.

Equally, that circumstances given to us in the nu!verse have given Jim little reason to believe in relationships.

And, yeah, I totally agree with you. They set the stage as Jim and Bones for this one, kept Spock and Jim on edge and antagonistic towards each other. Going to be a long time, if ever, before the Jim and Spock BFF things happens.

Its amazing how one little change can end up changing the outcome of the universe~ I do hope they play up on the Jim and Bones friendship (coughmorecough) during the next movie and not just move to Jim and Spock because that was TOS!canon.
