oncoming-storms; 42.2 - "Adventure"

He spent most days running. Sometimes, there was a purpose to his running; a few guards that seemed strangely upset over a trespasser in the Royal Court or a bomb with a timer that was ridiculously short. (Really, no timer should be that short. His trainers were scorched). Yet sometimes, there was no purpose greater than a steep hill and a strong ( Read more... )

Yes! There, you see, you have a story. I'm rather fond of the brackets, so I'm glad you liked that bit.

(And yes! I mean, they are replaceable but they also aren't. There is a balance to that, even if it's hard to see sometimes.)

I like Wells! And his adorable obsession with Mars. Not that science fiction in general wasn't obsessed with Mars. Tweel is also a reference! I love Tweel.

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Tweel! Is a character from A Martian Odyssey, which is a nifty little story told entirely with dialogue as a man tells his crewmates what happened to him while he was lost on Mars. He saves Tweel and then Tweel tags along a bit. I think Tweel is in the sequel story, too, Valley of Dreams or something. But I haven't read that.

(Hang onnnn, I am making my bed and stuff!)

...you know, looking back at my approximate coherency level when you were writing this, I feel like I should have at least been able to type out grammatically correct sentences.

Or not capitalize Afternoon randomly.

P.S. The story was very cute and strangely sad. Stop making me want to hug the Doctor.
