I'm choked up

I felt a great wave of sadness wash over me when I saw those pictures. Headlines in the newspaper read "13 killed in Iraq yesterday" and 13 is just a number, a small one compared to the cumulative body count. Those pictures reminded me that each one of those 13 men had a name, interests, memories, a wife that they loved and children that are going to grow up without a father.

I'm so glad that you looked at the pictures. I was fighting tears looking at them myself; not because they themselves are sad, but the thoughts implied through the situations are things you tend to overlook. I think that the ones that hurt most were the prayer circle and the soldier holding the small girl.
