So I went and watched THE DARK TOWER:
First off, I have not finished the books. I'm on book 4 and I'm enjoying the hell out of this epic story.
Is the movie equally as epic?
No, it is not. But it's not bad either. Really, it is not.
Idris Elba is an excellent Roland, he really is. I did enjoy the movie taking it as what is is. A lose adaption of the books. I recognized bits and pieces, here and there. Since I have not finished the books I have no clue if the Man in Black really operates that sfi-fi-y; I doubt it. It would have been awesome to have more backstory and I was a bit taken aback that Roland wasn't even that interested in the Dark Tower. But, really, if you let go of the book you can enjoy this one.
Would be nice to hear what you thought of the movie.
