Kara didn't give you religion? I mean, in the sense of your gods?

I guess that was my point - that "in the sense of my gods", in my opinion, is different than strict adherence to scripture. Maybe I didn't say it right.

Yeah, she did.

Good for her. She was always able to do things like that that no one else could do.

Kara was special. I can't think of anyone who would argue the point.

My father used to perform marriage ceremonies. Every once in a while, I'd be dragged in to perform some kind of service during the ceremony.

Cally and I had a simple military ceremony. Not too many people were there. And if anyone had asked, I would have told them it wasn't a shotgun wedding. We just work really fast.

I'm not sure what I would have done if Cally wanted a priest instead of the admiral or Colonel Tigh. Probably the same thing you did, since it doesn't really matter to me either way.

Did you want it to be quiet and private like that? Seems nobody has a big wedding in this new age or whatever. And everybody works fast unless they have some reason not to. I wonder sometimes what the cylons would think of what's happened to us. The other ones, not Sharon.

And I wonder what the people who aren't here would think.

Huh. You got me all introspective.

The when and the how was pretty much immaterial to me. I just woke up one day and realized I wanted to be married to Cally. No one else would do. So I kept after her until she agreed. Then we didn't really see any reason to wait.

I know what you mean when you refer to the others. And I think the Cylons (not Sharon) would be laughing their asses off. They managed to turn us against each other for a while there.

And to think, look at us and what would the first impressions be? The dumb mechanic and the dumb jock. No offense, Sam.

We're the smartest guys in the fleet.

None taken. I don't mind being the dumb jock - good to be underestimated, really.

That's the thing - we get distracted and we end up fighting the wrong people and glossing over the important stuff and they win without trying. And it's all over the fleet. It's like 'dumb' is a disease.

Good to know you haven't caught it.
