Anne was in her Yellow Period. Dipping the roller into the tray, Anne painted the walls of the new nursery a sunny hue. She had gotten plenty of practice doing this when setting up the Teen Center. Days of investing literal sweat equity into an office building one step away from the wrecking ball. Spray cans hissing, Tater and Deirdre threw up ( Read more... )

Every minor character on Buffy thanks you for your unceasing attention to detail and ability to draw out their hidden depths, to the point where they truly take on new life.

Also, excellent 'mature, slightly less snarky' Cordelia. Not to mention pitch-perfect angsty teen Dawn, with the charming/disturbing lessons of paternal figure Spike.

Bahahaha. Fraggle.

I like the switches you make between thoughts and action, like Dawn thinking about Buffy's hair and then trying not to throw up.

Kind of a splash of the Dawn from "Real Me," which I've always liked, because it contrasts her kind of small-time angst that every teenager goes through with her major life struggles.

Very good, as always.

Funny thing, this is the first time I've written Spike as a character. I'm neutral on him--loved his turn as a villain, enjoyed his ambiguous status in S4-S6, felt he was a little too present in S7. Still, he's fun to write pre-soul. Likeable but just a wee bit...off even when he's being caring.

Love the graffiti-style nursery decorations and the image of Gunn and Wes playing what I assume is Risk. And according to Google, Australia is the best country to control, since it's so easily defended. Yay for that. ;)

LOVE your Cordy, as well. "Can we have the cake?" made me snort Diet Coke onto the couch.

'Not Dawn' should have read the instructions on the packet more carefully, though. Nobody likes being green, whatever certain sources would have you believe.
