seems like there should be some kind of echolocation clause in hit and run, post twilight chiroptera accidents. you should, as a human with mediocre night vision, not be held responsible for the collision. maybe it had been drinking. or thought you were a huge insect?

I rather like to think that, at the time, I was moving at such an unrelenting velocity that, by the time the bat's signal wave got back to him, my bulk was streaking just behind it. In such a case, I suppose I'm somewhat culpable, but too fast to catch and ticket.
