Winter is Blaine's favorite time of year. Not for the snow or the holidays or the rejuvenation that comes with ending and starting a new year. It's the gloves.
Winter means cold means gloves. And gloves mean he can hold Kurt's hand. And holding Kurt's hand is one of Blaine's favorite things to do.
Kurt Hummel was born on May 12th, 1994. On August 24th, 2022 at twenty-eight years, fourteen weeks, six days, three hours, and forty-one minutes old, Kurt Hummel died.
Two days, seven hours, and twenty-three minutes later, Blaine saw Kurt again for the first time since they were nine. Two days, seven hours, and twenty-four minutes later, Kurt Hummel was alive again. Two days, seven hours, and twenty-five minutes later, Kurt Hummel was alive again *forever.*
The date was now January 14, 2023 and Kurt Hummel had been alive again for four months, three weeks, three hours, and nineteen minutes. And Kurt would continue being alive again unless he and Blaine touched.
Dead. First touch. Alive again. Second touch. Dead again forever. Blaine's gift was a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, he had the love of his life back. On the other...
So, this is why Blaine love winter.
The men are walking down Main Street hand-in-hand, he tells Kurt this. Kurt smiles, lifting their joined hands. "Me too."
They pause by Dicker's Department Store; Kurt points toward the window. "She looks glorious," he comments on the mannequin decked out in a luxurious, long, flowing gold dress. Blaine hums in agreement, slipping his arm around Kurt's waist.
He looks away from the window display, down into Blaine's eyes. They smile at each other. If they were any other couple, they probably would have kissed. But they weren't any other couple, they were Kurt and Blaine. So, Blaine squeezes Kurt closer to him for a moment and takes his hand again.
"Let's go back to The Pie Hole," Blaine suggests. "I think we have some extra cling wrap."
