Hey, hey now- didn't I see you there a week ago? ;) I actually asked Dawn to call me about almanacs, so it should work out!
The countdown chain is commonly used by children who impatiently wait for Santa. It looks a little like this, except more colorful and less crude. Basically it's a bunch of paper strips that have been stapled/taped together to form a chain. Every day (or whatever you're counting down), you rip off a paper link and celebrate being closer to your big day. Traditionally, it's for Christmas, but I'm using it for my GRE. I just need 40+ paper links... which makes it sound more depressing, lol. Le sigh.
I never thought of that- I'd probably stick a thumbtack in the wall and hang it by my bedroom door. But the 40+ rings might increase my anxiety, so I'm thinking maybe I can count weeks? Hopefully 6 rings will be just as motivating!
I'll grade your efforts. Subjectively, of course. That way you have no idea if you're going to pass or fail. That shouldn't be stressful, or anything. ;) As soon as I figure out when the next floorset is, I'll let you know.
