smorgasbord!
leftovers for the last (official) day.
this is strangely therapeutic, so I will continue. probably.
anyway, in today's issue: more about asexuality, asperger's, omg that's a lot of books, what's in pineapple bread, jared leto is seducing me with his voice, and more.
Just read this article that basically says that this person absolutely cannot be an ace.
Link I find this depressing largely because (supposedly) the answerer has a Psych PhD.
Shame on you for saying (basically) that it's impossible to be ace.
And hitting several of the Troll Bingo spaces.
If you can't tell if an article is badly written or not, substitute "homosexual" for "asexual" and read just how 20 years ago it sounds.
"It is possible that you are not homosexual, just sexually inactive." WTF?
Later..."For some, it takes engaging in sexual activities to become interested in sex."
Wait, I thought I (or whoever, really), got the last choice about doing whatever I want to do with my body?
Right?
Right?
I'm stepping down off this soapbox for now, just let me say that even if not Ace or whatever, I am definitely an ally.
Next up: Asperger's Syndrome, also known as Aspie (when describing an individual) or AS (abbreviation). (Confusingly enough, the abbreviation NT is used for "neurotypical", that is, "normal" person. Other forums, especially ones that focus on personality types use NT for those Myers-Briggs types that feature "Intuition/Thinking" as their central two types. So there's that.)
I exhibit some Aspie symptoms, but am remarkably well-adjusted (I think; others disagree). I like systems and understanding why we do something before doing it. I have a severe sensitivity to itchy things, bright lights, loud noises, and repetitive sounds. I don't like being touched unless I initiate (have control over) the situation.
Also, INTPs are often described as the "Aspies" of the Myers-Briggs system. Huh.
Moving right along...
Random fact of the day: "zorro" means "fox" in Spanish. Makes sense when you think about it, doesn't it?
I recently purchased some pineapple bread from the local asian market (yay!) but there is NO PINEAPPLE ANYWHERE IN IT.
Ingredients: flour, sugar, yeast, egg, butter, water, salt, milk.
Hmm...must not be in industry-standard order, because there is no way there was more salt than milk in this bread.
It looked vaguely like a pineapple, I suppose, but WTF?
Also, a Spanish-Indian Frog Princess would be a Rana Ranita (Rani is the Indian-Hindi word for princess, Rana is the Spanish word for Frog...)
I will upload the "omg that's a lot of books" thing later. I need to edit the pics.
Also, song of the moment is "Search and Destroy"
