Mundane update-thingy

Our house is on the market now. There was an open house today, but apparently not a lot of people showed up. Our realtor said, FWIW, that other realtors were reporting the same thing; it just wasn't a good day for open houses. She did say that another broker wants to show the house tomorrow evening, so that's something. I'm still marvelling at our ( Read more... )

Thanks for the update! :-) I'm sorry that the hormone mood swings are getting to you, but they're hormone mood swings. They suck. Chocolate helps. As do shoulder rubs and foot rubs.

When you're sitting there ressting, and turning things off (as well you SHOULD be), remember what a friend of mine once told me when his wife was pregnant. She was just about at her third trimester, and was starting to feel tired and swollen and such. She got up to go into the kitchen to make dinner. As she heaved herself up from the futon, he asked her where she was going. She replied, "I'm going to make dinner." He said, "No. I'm making dinner. You just sit there and make an ear, and we'll be even."

Even if your brain thinks you're 'not doing anything', you're doing a lot.

You know, I was assuming that the mental stress was getting to me, but you're probably right that hormones are having an effect as well. Up until the latest crunch, I haven't really been having mood swings, but obviously those hormones were lying in wait, looking for an opportunity to mess me up.

Matt is a big help and keeps encouraging me to take down time, but sometimes it's hard to shut my brain off.

Yup. I'm hoping that there's a lull before things get crazy again, but if the house moves more quickly than we anticipated, I may not get to relax again until the kid goes off to college ;-).

Lately I've had to eat every few hours if only because my body demands it. Unfortunately, circumstances on Sunday conspired against me. I did stop off at the grocery store to pick up a snack, but it proved to be insufficient. If something like this pops up again, I'll be smarter. I'm trying to listen to my body, but sometimes it's hard to shake the mental patterns of your pre-pregnancy self ( ... )

"If something like this pops up again, I'll be smarter. I'm trying to listen to my body,"

I've got a metabolism that runs out of food fuel like this even not being pregnant. I've learned to put some baggies with quick snacks in them in my car glove compartment. Things that won't spoil and are there for emergencies such as that. I was also amused to read your feelings about your house now that it's in show condition. Not long ago Himself and I were mentioning the same thing, marveling at how we always seem to fix, build and clean things for the _next_ person instead of ourselves.
