Wah. Writing a novel is hard. On the bright side, Harper's Magazine, to which I subscribe, has a giant article this month about being an oncology nurse, which the main character of my novel-to-be is. Needless to say, I underlined aggressively

I bet this is in your game plan already, but I really recommend shadowing a nurse for a week or two. Most hospitals will let you do that if the patients agree, and most patients and nurses want to talk about their experiences. It's just... I dunno, none of the articles I read about doctoring or nursing or being a cancer patient come close to the truth. Good luck with your novel!
