Another Picture Post

I've posted other pics of the downtown Greenville construction in previous entries, but here are some updates:

This is the Liberty Bridge that went up last summer. It has totally transformed the park, and there are tons of people down there now no matter when you go. In a good way...

Just across the street is the first phase of Riverplace, a multi-use commercial/office/residential complex right on the river (this pic is the reverse angle of the one above). This building is going to be commercial space on the ground floor and office space upstairs. It is one bookend of the complex. The statue in the foreground is new...a lot of people don't get it, but it seems obvious. In the context of the Falls Park, it makes perfect sense and it works for me.

This is the same building, but from the opposite corner and down next to the river. The structure to the right will be condos.

Just down the road, they've cleared the land for the new baseball park. I miss our affiliation with Atlanta since the G-Braves left for Pearl, MS. The (new) Greenville Bombers are a Red Sox franchise, and I'm neither a Boston (the city) nor an AL fan, so for me the team is meh. I've seen the designs for the park, however, and it will be an awesome addition to the downtown area.
