Thanks Magpie. :) I'm scared to death at the prospect, but really, really happy about it. I desperately wanted to get us out of the rental cycle. I don't do 'gypsy' all that well (except in my imagination).

Congratulations! It's both exciting and scary, but it is so good to have a place that's truly yours.

I feel like I've been holding my breath for the past almost two years. This is a huge relief. :)

I'm so happy for you! *bounces*

I agree! When I was looking for this apartment, I learned this:

small = tiny
cute = tiny
cozy = tiny
charming = tiny
very nice = tiny

:D That just about sums it up.

I suppose the truth ('Very small unit in small block, faces wall of house next door, overlooking busy intersection, no laundy, rather run-down kitchen') doesn't have quite the same ring to it!

That's wonderful news! Now you can settle down without that worry for the future hanging over your head. Despite the the hassle of moving house again, it shouldn't be as bad as the last time!

That's what I keep telling myself - it can't be as bad as last time...can it?

We've been vigilant about not acquiring any more stuff, because moving was always going to be on the cards. Either the rent here would go beyond what I could pay for it, the owner would want to move in herself, or ... as it turns out ... we can move to our place.

However, I've promised myself I will be all packed up by the day before. Not like last time when I was still packing as the removalists were carrying the boxes out to the van. O-O

needing to have my own nest to feel safe in

I can totally relate to this! So glad the "planets aligned!"

Thanks Jewel.

It does feel like a nest...I'm actually tempted to call it the Eyrie. It's on the almost top floor of a building that's at the top of a hill. Even the height of it makes me feel safe. :)

Well, then, the Eyrie it is!
