Has the whole world gone crazy? Here I was starting to think moving to Australia might be a decent idea. I should follow world politics more. But I can barely skim the surface of US politics before wanting to retreat into a hole. As one friend put it. "My desire to stay informed is in direct conflict with my desire to stay sane."

Hey, you could still emigrate! It would be lovely to have you as a neighbour!

(Great quote from your friend, btw. I have been following what's happening in America with one eye - but even that coverage has been eclipsed by our own tantrums.)

However, seriously, there is no way to describe just how surreal this whole situation has become. It's almost as if our politicians are aliens. (Or, as one of the vox pops on the news said, 'there's too much politics in politics'.)

The PM came out fighting today, and has called for a leadership vote next Monday at 10. So we have another 3 days of speculation, discussion and analysis to look forward to. Oh Fab.
