This post reminds me of when my friend thought that the main conservative party in my country said that they were going to get rid of healthcare and I was like "LOL, whut? No. Wrong country. The Republican government is thataway". Even if our main right-wing party did want to get rid of it, though, they wouldn't because they would get such a backlash from so many of their long-time supporters. Which reminds me of how different our main right-wing and left-wing parties are on certain issues.
Then again, my country has been having free healthcare for over 50 years and while the NHS system has its flaws, very, very few people object to its existence. I guess we're just so used to having it around.
