I'm downloading (don't look at me like that, it was impossible to find anywhere and I don't have the patience to order it from Amazon or E-bay), a mockumentary about what would have happened if the South had won the War of Secession -and slavery was still legal. This is particularly odd for me, mostly because it'd be my stupid country this stuff was going on in. That, and the fact that you see no one but white folk walkin' around. No Hispanic/Asian/Mediterraneans in sight. I probably wouldn'ta been born if the Confederate States of America had existed. I kept having to remind myself that, no, this isn't real, and no, these people don't need the hell kicked out of them.

And 'gleamin' yo teefus' is just referencing the shine of one's teeth. *winces* Good lord, this is bad.

I'm not so sure about that; even if the Confederates had won the war, there were a few southern states that had advanced A LOT in regard to slaves. For example, in New Orleans they had a lot of rights (you couldn't hurt, rape, tie or otherwise abuse your slave, they had a certain amount of hours in which they could work, they could buy their freedom and there was certainly a ruckus of one of them died in unexplained circumstances). The movie also deals with the brain drain to border countries -Canada- and how fragile the economy would have become if everything was based on slave labour.

PS- Don't worry, you would have been born. The Germans and the Japanese were allies in this AU :-P
