...why is it again that I give a shit?

Ever had one of those days where you just feel "you know what, having dreams and ambitions is just too hard. I think I might just become a shiftless bum instead, its so much easier"? Well I've been having one of those YEARS. I just can't find a good reason to give a flying rat's ass about...well...anything

Why do you think I eventually dropped out of uni. Being a parent at least has a purpose and many many many rewards. For me being at uni had no future and no interest whatsoever and was just too much work for no reward.

My traineeship was useful too. I actually dropped out of uni to get a traineeship. Only took me 6 months too. And it has gotten me employment since which is nice.

I felt the same way for quite a while in my undergrad degree. I was rejected four times from the technology school at Purdue. Each time I got that awful letter of, "We regret to inform you...blah blah blah", it just brought my goals and ambitions to a stand still. The way I got through it was by being very bloody stubborn, ripping up those letters, throwing them out, and pretend that I never got them. You and Maddy both know the whole psychological basics of the "out of sight, out of mind" theory. I used that on myself and went back to the drawing board and tried harder. I eventually got through my degree and finished one semester behind, but was able to pull off two degrees in that time as well. So in the end, I achieved something and came out on top ( ... )

That's certainly true. I managed to stay ahead of the curve with my academic grades, however I didn't graduate because I failed to find anywhere suitable to do my work experience. There were many times I felt like giving up and writing off the 5 1/2 years of my life I spent studying and just work in a sales/tech job. I some how managed to keep looking until eventually I managed to get into the position im in now. And it was through someone I knew that I got the job, so getting to know people in the industry, even if they're only students at the current time, is important ( ... )
