dude, Software Error Number 02 on my new drum machine really blows. the only thing i have not tried is clearing all memory, which i really hope i don't have to do. should've midi dumped. damnit. now i will regularly.

how is a MIDI dump going to help? are you just trying to save the patterns? or is your drum machine just MIDI constipated...heh heh...sorry.

that's too bad, man. I've never had any software errors with my machines aside from the OS disk going bad every once in a while. I've had hardware shit go on with almost every machine though :/

is that machine pretty cool aside from all the problems? is it just a ROMpler or does it have some sound-sculpting features?

"all the problems"... no no no. i'm loving it. i probably messed something up. our relationship is only 2 days old. :)

yeah, i was going to MIDI dump all my patterns and then hopefully resetting memory on the machine would fix it. there is a very little bit of sound sculpting. simply dropping the pitch 16 steps (or raising it) can make a crash symbol sound like... well, not a crash symbol. so that's pretty cool. but no LFO, no delay, nothing like that.

drum machines that can sequence pitch are awesome though. then it can be more like a synth, especially if you have multiple outputs.

you've probably read me babbling about it on my journal, but I love my RY-30. :)

yes. one of the patterns i've saved already had the top 8 pads dedicated to one whistle-type sample that i pitched into a mini-keyboard.
