I had an holistic doctor/chiropractor tell me I had a sensitivity to MSG. I cut it out for years but have slowly let it creep back into my life in some ways (mostly in the form of Doritos and dip...mmmm...). Eating MSG-free is freaking frustrating. Gah.
how would they "know" you have the sensitivity? There's not exactly a way to test for it... but that said, everyone has sensitivity to it in some level, so maybe it's like saying "you're sensitive to arsenic?"
Yeah...I kind of think he was a bit of a quack, especially considering he told me to go off of all my medication, including birth control and EffexorXR, immediately. Jumping off the Effexor was not pretty.at.all.
But...I was desperate for someone to tell me it wasn't an autoimmune disease. Ahhhh...the power of suggestion.
monosodium glutamate, MSG, E621, hydrolyzed yeast... foreign goods that say flavor enhancers may have MSG, too, since that is what they call it... a near-flavorless flavor enhancer... most of the time here, it's called monosodium glutamate.

And it's definitely not fair that it's in Hidden Valley Ranch. I love that stuff.
