Its great because every time I get one I draw on it and my bosses know it. I drew a picture of a coworker eating poop once as a joke, it was great. I made it his wallpaper everytime he logged in :-)

Every once and awhile I am tempted to buy one, because it looks like it would be fun to draw upon.

I also find myself sitting on my couch watching TV but wanting to be able to IM and check e-mail without getting up.

For work though? Hardly.

Tablet pc character recognition will give you years of entertainment, and cause your friends no end of frustration whenever you attempt to use it. You could just go with plain 'ink', but gaim doesn't support it, and msn messsenger version x probably isn't gonna start supporting jabber anytime soon.
