Tell me about a story I haven't written, and I'll give you one sentence from that story.

The miniature pigs were lame but their eye shone with a feral intelligence, and the squirrels had mange but their clever claws worked like fingers; I should have thought of that before we wintered in the old munitions factory.

Later Tremaine realized they should have known it was no coincidence that each morning they found the toaster, which usually lived on the kitchen counter next to the microwave and the electric kettle, nestled beneath the curve of the ALYSS30's carapace.

I was sort of visualizing my dog - once a kid had brought home one of those helium balloons with a weight to keep it from flying away. It lasted a long time and he developed an odd passion for it, and would get annoyed if we moved it from its place in the hallway. When it finally deflated it was quite tragic.

You want a river on an atmosphere-free moon, you make it with countless aquiferous nanobots, it pleases your aesthetic sense, fine; water is memory, though, so don't wonder when the 'bots long for a simple wooden gazebo tucked into its easternmost curve, there where you've built the aerospace museum.
