“Hello Sami,” Rose smiled. “Nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you too!” Sami grinned. “I would shake your hand,but I’m kind of..”
“Covered in paint, I see. Would this be my sons handy work?”
“Sorry..” James said looking at the ground.
“It’s okay.” Sami said quickly.
“Like I said, I wasn’t watching where I’m going.”
“Well, here.” Rose said getting up. “I’ll show you to our bathroom. You can have a shower and clean up.”
“Oh, it’s okay, I can shower where ever I find a place to stay…”
“You don’t have a place to stay yet!” James asked. “How long have you been in town?”
“A few hours…”
“Why don’t you stay with us?” Rose asked. “I used to know some people in the military, Edward Elric and his brother Alphonse.”
Sami gasped.
“Is something wrong?” Rose asked her.
“Edward Elric, did you say?”
When Rose nodded, she began laughing.
“What?” James asked her.
“It’s just, Edward Elric, hes my Papa!”
Rose gasped. She began looking Sami from head to toe. “You’re Eds daughter? But, I thought he was with Mustang.”
“He is.” Sami grinned.
“But how-“
Sami stopped the older woman, knowing exactly what she was going to ask.
“Some alchemy was involved…”
“Oh, I see… Just curious,which one carried you..?”
“Ed.”
It was Rose’s turn to burst out laughing. “I can’t picture edward pregnant, forgive me for laughing. It’s just, the image is rather funny.”
“It’s okay,” She smiled. “A lot of people laugh.”
“But please, especially since you’re Eds daughter, won’t you stay with us while you’re here?”
“I, well…okay,sure.”
Rose smiled softly. “Ill get the guest room ready, James,” She added to her son. “Go show her to the bathroom.”
James nodded and lead Sami down the hall to the bathroom.
…It was now midnight, and Sami was wide awake.
“Come on…sleep.” She said to herself. “ It’s your first night away from home… just sleep…Just close your eyes.. and keep them that way…”
There was a knock on the door, and it opened slightly to see James looking at her. “Are you talking to yourself?”
She laughed. “Yes, I do it a lot. Why are you still up?”
“ I don’t go to sleep til late.”
She motioned for him to come sit beside her, and he did.
“So… whats it like to be in the military at such a young age?”
“It’s pretty cool, especially because I’m pretty highly ranked for being 16.”
“Whats your rank?” He asked.
“Imma Major!”
“Serious?”
“Serious!”
“That’s cool.”
“Yeah, my best friend Elysia and I, were still in high school, yet both Majors. Our school life is crazy, because how many high schools can say they have one talented Alchemist, let alone two state alchemists?”
“Wait, you’re a state alchemist?”
“Yeap!” She grinned.
“That’s so cool!” He cried out. “What kind of alchemy? Just any kind..or… or what?”
She giggled. Apparently this was a favorite subject of his. “ I guess you could say, I play with fire.”
“A fire alchemsit? That’s so cool.”
“Roy Mustang is The Flame Alchemist , and Edward Elric is the Fullmetal Alchemist… I’m their daughter, Sami Mustang, the Fullfire Alchemist at your survice!” She said giving him a fake salute with a little to much energy, and an extremely fake serious face.
Both of them burst out laughing.
..And so began another friendship…
